The Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands, Inc., successfully conducted the 2-day Design Boot Camp for the 4th SCPW Wetland Center Design Competition. Conducted last 23-24 February 2024 at the Las Piñas – Parañaque Wetland Park, the boot camp was attended by all seven participating teams/schools:
– University of Santo Tomas
– Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
– De La Salle-College of St. Benilde
– Polytechnic University of the Philippines
– Batangas State University
– National University
– Far Eastern University
The event was composed of insightful lectures, guiding the student participants through the intricacies of the design process and offering tips to fuel their imaginations for the design competition. Each team had a valuable mentoring session with Arch. Aaron Lecciones, who helped provide direction and offered tips for their design concepts. There were also engaging workshops and brainstorming sessions for each of the teams.

The Design Boot Camp has been a journey of creativity and learning. The next phase of the competition is the submission of their design concept boards and drawings. The 4th SCPW Wetland Center Design Competition is being implemented in partnership with SM Prime Holdings, Inc.
