Mr. Edrian Echague was the CLEAR Youth Network delegate to the World Leadership Conference 2009 on 15 – 19 June 2009 in Singapore Management University in Singapore. His participation is being sponsored by the World Bank.
The 5-day international conference gathered youths from all over the world to engage in meaningful discussions on the ethos of leadership, and the central tenets of how the world works through predominant current affairs, inclusive of the environment and the economy. The conference theme is “Environment and Economics”, focusing on current issues related to environment and economics, and the possible resolutions.
Mr. Echague is one of the youth leaders in the CLEAR Youth Network which is composed on youth from the lakeshore communities of Laguna de Bay. CLEAR provides the members of the youth network with youth-focused environment advocacy programmes and activities. CLEAR believes that it can positively impact the youth by leveraging on the strengths of its partners and provide the youth with the right tools and knowledge on lake conservation and protection. CLEAR (Conservation of Laguna de Bay’s Environment and Resources) is a the tripartite partnership of Laguna Lake Development Authority, Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands , and Unilever Philippines.
