On February 17, 2024, the bright and aspiring Architecture students participating in the 4th SCPW Wetland Center Design Competition embarked on a field trip to Macabebe, Pampanga to explore the lush mangrove area – the future home of our Wetland Center! The students immersed themselves in the beauty of nature, taking a guided walk and ocular visit to visualize and experience the wetland where their creative visions will soon come to life. This on-site experience is a crucial step in the design process, allowing them to understand and appreciate the local context including talking to the local community.
The field trip also included a briefing on the Macabebe mangrove area by Ms. Pearl Mulato of PENRO – Pampanga and by Mr. Mario Canilao of Samahang Makakalikasan ng Pampanga.
The participants will be in a Boot Camp on 23-24 February 2024 to work on their concept boards and preliminary architectural drawings.
