The SCPW in partnership with the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) conducted the Second National Meeting on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Wastewater for the Philippine Component of the project on 15 August 2023. This meeting aimed to be a venue for sharing learnings and having a conversation with stakeholders in charting the next steps.
The meetings held back-to-back with the Learning Visit to Bayawan City Constructed Wetland Facility on 16-17 August 2023 which is a capacity-building activity under the LLBCP supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of Germany. This constructed wetland treatment facility is the first in the country and was inaugurated in 2006. It has been continuously operated and managed by the Bayawan City Local Government Unit in Negros Oriental. The visit aims to share and document best practices in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, particularly on the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the constructed wetlands to treat wastewater.
