Training of Trainers on the Conduct
of Youth Ecological Camp

The Training of Trainers is one component of the project that will ensure that the youth will continuously have a pool of trainers who can pass on the learnings to other sectors of the community and to develop the skills of people and institutions in engaging youth towards actions and initiatives relevant to Disaster Preparedness and Response, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in the project sites.
The Training of Trainers for Mataasnakahoy and Balete was composed of learning sessions about basic environmental concepts, DRR and CCAM, communication, experiential learning, and group dynamics among others. Teachers were also trained on how to conduct activities such as the field exposure visits and action-planning workshops. Twenty-one (21) high school teachers from Municipalities of Mataasnakahoy and Balete in the province of Batangas had successfully completed the 2-day training. The participating schools were Balete Family Farm School, Balete National High School, Bayorbor National High School, Holy Trinity School, La Purisima Concepcion Academy, Mataasnakahoy National High School, Mother Chiara Biagotti School and Our Lady of Fatima Educational System.
As part of their practicum, the new teachers trainers were tasked to co-facilitate the conduct of Youth Ecological Camp for Mataasnakahoy to apply the knowledge and learning experiences they have gained in the training.
