To regularly conduct an Ecological Camp, dubbed as Kilos Kabataan Para sa Lawa, is part of the plan strategy of CLEAR in its campaign to educate the community, particularly the youth, on the need to conserve and protect Laguna de Bay. The ecological camp aims to ensure the sustainable conservation and protection of Laguna de Bay and to foster a deeper sense of appreciation and commitment especially among the lakeshore communities. The CLEAR Ecological Camp for the Youth of Jalajala was held on 9-11 December 2019 at the MFI Polytecnich Institute, Inc. in Jalajala, Rizal. It was conducted in cooperation with the Local Government of Jalajala and Jalajala District Office of the Department of Education.
Twenty-two students from three high schools of Jalajala participated in the three-day ecological camping. Environmental lectures and group dynamics were designed to foster a deeper appreciation and understanding of Laguna de Bay. It was highlighted by field exposure trip which include a boat ride in the lake for water quality monitoring demonstration. The Eco-Camp concluded with a reporting of campers’ action plans for the conservation of Laguna de Bay in their respective schools.
The three Participating schools were: Bagumbong National High School, Bayugo National High School, and Jalajala National High School.
